Brickman hires ACF, Gramercy executives

The New York-based fund manager has hired ACF Capital and Wachovia executive Tony Fineman as EVP to target debt and equity acquisitions and Gramercy Capital’s Laura Godfrey as VP of investor relations.

Brickman has hired former ACF Capital Group executive Tony Fineman to target debt and equity acquisitions and originations.

Fineman joins the New York-based fund manager as executive vice president after previously working for ACF and prior to that as a senior banker in Wachovia Bank’s commercial real estate finance group, where he managed, structured and closed commercial real estate debt transactions. The move reunites Fineman with Brickman principal Kathy Corton after the pair worked together at Nomura Asset Capital Corporation.

Brickman has also hired former Gramercy Capital Corp., director Laura Guttman as vice president of investor relations and portfolio management. Guttman will report to chief financial officer and director of property management Mike Esquenazi, and will also support Brickman’s capital raising activities, reporting to vice president Suzanne Gibson.

The firm has raised more than $750 million in equity across four private equity real estate funds since being co-founded by Bruce Brickman and Roderick O’Connor in 1992. Brickman is currently in market with its latest vehicle, Brickman Real Estate Fund V, which is targeting up to $500 million, according to a December 2010 SEC filing.
