Benson Elliot makes three hires

The London-based private equity real estate firm has taken on a former managing director at Fortress Investment Group, a development director at Lordship Estates and a general counsel.

Benson Elliot Capital Management, the private equity real estate firm, has made three additions to its management team as it continues to expand across Europe.

Joseph DeLeo, partner and director of portfolio management, has joined from Fortress Investment Group where as managing director he directed a team of 40 professionals overseeing the commercial real estate investment management activities in Germany.

Chris Coulson, development director, was most recently at Lordship Estates, an investor and developer in Central and Eastern Europe.

In a third hire, the firm has taken on Dorothee Wintle, a member of both the New York and Paris Bars as general counsel.

Marc Mogull, managing partner, said in a statement: “As we consider the opportunities and challenges our sector will confront in the next few years, the ability to attract top calibre talent will continue to be decisive in delivering investment success and market leading returns.”
