Atlantic-Pacific hires Hamilton Lane veteran

Peter Larsen, who previously was co-head of real estate investments at Hamilton Lane, now will serve as principal at the Greenwich, Connecticut-based placement agent and advisory firm.

Atlantic-Pacific Capital has hired Peter Larsen as principal. In his new role at the placement agent and advisory firm, Larsen will be leading a team that evaluates potential financial sponsors for alternative investment funds.

“We are pleased to welcome Peter to Atlantic-Pacific,” said Mark Bourgeois, chief executive and president, in a statement. “His wealth of experience in evaluating alternative investment opportunities will provide significant benefits to all our clients.”

Larsen has worked extensively with institutional clients, including corporate and public pension programs, Taft-Hartley plans and sovereign wealth funds. He added: “I am excited to expand the firm’s due diligence process in order to continue the focus on best-in-class managers.”

Larsen comes to Atlantic-Pacific from Hamilton Lane Advisors, a Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania-based private equity investment manager, where he most recently co-headed its real estate investment efforts. During his 11-year tenure, he was in charge of evaluating buyout, venture capital, credit and private equity real estate funds for the firm. Before joining Hamilton Lane, he was a consultant to a biotechnology incubator and, prior to that, worked in the private funds group at WR Hambrecht + Co, a private equity placement agent.

Atlantic-Pacific is dedicated to raising capital for alternative investments and typically takes on mandates for real estate, private equity and infrastructure fund placements. One of its more recent real estate fundraising efforts was Iron Point Partners’ second real estate fund, Iron Point Real Estate Partners II, which reached a final close of $750 million last year.
