AEW appoints head of fund management

Paris-based private equity real estate firm AEW Europe has poached a managing director from Australia’s Goodman Group to take charge of businesses including its separate accounts business and its Paris-based funds.

AEW Europe, the Paris-based private equity real estate firm, has appointed Rob Wilkinson as managing director and head of European fund management and separate accounts.

According to an announcement made today, Wilkinson will head the firm’s London office, one of 11 offices it operates in Europe, and report to AEW Europe’s European chief executive officer Christian Delaire. He will start the role early next month.
Wilkinson is joining from Australian industrial and business parks property company Goodman.

He started his career as an auditor at KPMG before working at UBS Investment Banking, Eurohypo.

He will assume some of the responsibilities of former chief investment officer for Europe, Ric Lewis, who he launched his own firm Tristan Capital last month, although Wilkinson was not a direct replacement for Lewis.

While at Goodman, Wilkinson oversaw a team responsible for the fund management of the group’s seven sector-focused funds which invest across the logistics, retail and residential sectors in the UK and continental Europe.
