Aberdeen Property Investors has appointed Jon Lekander as its chief investment officer. Formerly the firm’s head of investment strategy, Lekander will now oversee strategy implementation for the firm’s numerous real estate vehicles, according to the firm.
“I am a strong believer in entrepreneurial drive and decision-making close to the marketplace,” Rickard Backlund, chief executive officer at the firm, said in a statement. “However, I also believe that stringent quality control and consistent investment processes are key for growth going forward, particularly given current market volatility. Consequently, I am very pleased to see Jon in this new role, which will complement the existing fund committees and ensure the continued good performance of our funds.”
Alessandro Bronda, the current head of European research, will replace Lekander as head of investment strategy. Bronda will be responsible for market research and the development of new strategies for the fund series.
