US tax is the challenge for Daido Life Insurance

The Japanese insurer is working to deal with US tax issue for its real estate investment.

Daido Life Insurance said it prefers to start making real estate investments from the US and it targets core/core-plus strategy in the US market. However, the US tax is the issue that Daido Life is facing and it is now doing feasibility studies focusing on the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act.

It currently allocates two percent to real estate investments.
