Hindsight, they say, is a wonderful thing. Most make that point after ruing poor decisions. Yet, for our annual PERE Awards, hindsight is a blessing, as you get to look back over the past 12 months and determine which individuals and organisations stood head and shoulders above their peers.
The long-awaited finalists for the PERE Global, US, Europe and Asia categories are revealed here, so follow this link to our dedicated voting page and get voting.
Will Starwood Capital Group founder Barry Sternlicht retain his crown as Global Industry Figure of the Year? Or will David Bonderman, head of private equity titan TPG Capital, snatch it away? Throw into the mix the real estate heads of Asia sovereign wealth funds China Investment Corporation and National Pension Service of Korea, and you have the making of a tasty race for gold.
Global Firm of the Year also is looking highly competitive. Cleveland-based The Townsend Group, the expanding investment management firm, is up against mainstays The Blackstone Group, LaSalle Investment Management, Starwood Capital Group and Partners Group.
There are plenty of categories for you to ponder, and we look forward to monitoring each and every voting battle as they play out over the coming weeks. Voting closes on Monday 24 January 2011, and results will be published simultaneously on PERENews.com and in the March issue of PERE Magazine.
Voting is easy. Simply visit our voting page and fire away. Each category has five nominations for you to consider. Remember, as with previous years, you can vote in all, some or even just one category; you just can’t vote for yourself.
