The UK fund manager has recruited John Harding as business development director of property to work with distribution teams across Europe, the US and Asia.

John Harding is leaving Morgan Stanley to join Schroders’ property fund management team.

Schroders said today that Harding had been appointed business development director of property, reporting to Mike Clarke, head of property distribution.

In the newly created role, Harding will work closely with Schroders’ sales and distribution teams across Europe, the US and Asia to help raise equity for Schroders’ specialist property products, the firm added.

At Morgan Stanley he was responsible for equity raising for real estate funds within Europe. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was a portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Realty Japan based in Tokyo.

Schroders’ Clarke said: “John is a strong addition to the team, he brings considerable experience in international equity raising and real estate fund structuring from his previous roles.” Schroders has expanded its sales and distribution capability to meet growing demand for property investment, he added.Â
