Savills IM appoints two executive directors

Richard Gore and Neil Varnham both previously worked with Savills IM’s COO James Bury at Pradera Asset Management.

Savills Investment Management (IM), the real estate investment management business of London-listed property services firm Savills, has appointed Richard Gore and Neil Varnham as executive directors as part of its continued expansion.

Gore, who has over 30 years of industry experience, has worked for Pradera Asset Management, Block Holdings and Capital & Regional. He has been responsible for a number of retail developments throughout his career, including the 500,000 square foot Glasgow Fort Shopping Center in Glasgow.

Varnham previously worked as managing director at Pradera and held a senior role at Henderson Global Investors. He has been responsible for developing a number of large scale assets including the Bull Ring site in Birmingham, UK and a €1.9 billion European outlet shopping center portfolio.

Justin O’Connor, chief executive officer at Savills IM, said: “Neil and Richard are highly accomplished property professionals and acknowledged experts in the real estate industry. They are excellent additions to our asset management and retail capabilities and will contribute to our continued international growth.”

The two hires come less than a year after the firm recruited James Bury from Pradera as chief operating officer. Bury held several roles at the London-based firm, including chief executive and head of European fund management.

In 2012, Pradera founder Paul Whight and chief executive Colin Campbell ceded control of the firm to Bury, who became chief executive officer, and was supported by then managing director Varnham. Savills IM has over €6 billion of retail assets under management.
