Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI), the real estate investment management arm of financial services giant Prudential Financial, has hired Jocelyn de Verdelon to lead its investing activities in France.
PREI, which trades under the name of Pramerica Real Estate Investors in Europe, hired de Verdelon from Altarea-Cogedim, the French property company where he was its office investments director. In this position, he was responsible for sourcing and executing value-added and opportunistic acquisitions and he assisted in the firm’s fundraising, development and asset management activities.
He will be based at PREI’s Paris office and will sit on its European executive committee. He joins an office that covers France, Belgium and Luxembourg, and has invested more than €1 billion across more than 30 assets on behalf of investors.
“Jocelyn’s appointment to head our activities in France, one of the key European real estate markets, is an important step as we look to expand our presence in the region and strengthen our European platform with best in class talent in each local market,” said Raimondo Amabile, co-head of Europe at Pramerica.
“Jocelyn has extensive experience in sourcing deals, particularly in the value-add and opportunistic space, and I look forward to working alongside him to take advantage of the opportunities we see in the French market.”
Pramerica managed $9 billion in gross assets across Europe as of 31 March, 2013.
