Orchard Street recruits JLL pro

The UK property investment manager with a newly created special situations fund has hired Phillip Rodger to become head of asset management.

London-based Orchard Street Investment Management has poached Phillip Rodger from property services firm Jones Lang LaSalle as its head of asset management from October.

The current regional director will join the firm as a full partner, according to a statement by Orchard.

The new hire is in addition to that of Barney Rowe from Australian firm Goodman who was recruited recently to become fund manager of Orchard’s newly created UK Special Situations Fund. That vehicle launched in March this year with £100m (€124 million; $176 million) of equity, largely provided by an affiliate of GIC, the Government of Singapore investment organisation.

Orchard founder Chris Bartram said: “Both of our new appointments will add materially to the ability of the firm to transact more business for existing clients, and to increase performance of assets under management.”
