Global property services firm JLL has promoted Megan Walters to lead the firm’s research division across Asia Pacific.
Walters takes over the position of head of research for the region from Jane Murray who is leaving the firm after an 18-year long stint.
Walters, previously the head of research for Asia Pacific capital markets, will start her new role early October.
“I’m delighted to take on this new challenge and am looking forward to working more closely with our talented team of over 160 researchers across the region,” said Walters in an official statement. “Jane has done an incredible job of developing our research function into an authority in Asia Pacific and I am very fortunate to be taking on such a robust platform. I am looking forward to the opportunity to find new and innovative ways to continue to meet our clients’ needs in this increasingly data-driven and technology-enabled world.”
Walters joined JLL in 2010. As the head of the capital markets research team she has been responsible for advising the firm’s investor clients and generating publications on trends in the property sector.
Meanwhile Murray is understood to be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities, which were not disclosed. In her long association with JLL that first began in the firm’s Sydney office in 1998, she has held several senior positions including as the head of research for Australia.
Last week, JLL also announced the appointment of Christian Ulbrich has the global chief executive officer, replacing Colin Dyer who has led the business since 2004 and is now retiring.
