TH Real Estate makes trio of hires

The new European appointments come a week after the London-based real estate asset management firm announced its new CEO.

London-based real estate asset management firm, TH Real Estate, has made three hires as it looks to strengthen its European operations.

Logistics specialist Tim Hennes has been appointed senior investment manager and will report to Thorsten Kiel, head of logistics, Europe at TH Real Estate from the firm’s Frankfurt office.

Hennes joins TH Real Estate from Paris-based real estate investment manager AEW Europe. He also previously worked at PointPark Properties and Heitman International.

TH Real Estate also bolstered its Southern European business with appointments in Spain and Italy. Maurice Meulendijk joins as a new asset manager, based in the Madrid office, and Gianluca Scarcella as a portfolio manager based in Milan.

Meulendijk joins the firm from Multi Development, where he held several roles across Europe primarily focusing on Iberian retail assets. Scarcella worked at Cushman & Wakefield in the property accounting department where he was responsible for accounting management for shopping centers and retail parks.

The additions come a week after TH Real Estate announced that Mike Sales, currently managing director, Europe will replace retiring chief executive James Darkins and take over as head of the company from September 1.

TH Real Estate was officially launched in April 2014 as a 60:40 joint venture between the US pension TIAA-CREF and Henderson Global Investors. Back in April, TIAA-CREF agreed to acquire the remaining 40 percent ownership interest in TH Real Estate from Henderson for £80 million (€112 million; $122 million), taking its ownership stake to 100 percent.
