Stockbridge hires fundraiser from Heitman

Heitman’s former head of global consultant relations is now leading Stockbridge Capital Group’s client relations team.

Stockbridge Capital Group has hired Alan Purser for a new role as managing director in the firm’s client relations team, the firm said Tuesday.

In his new role at Stockbridge, Purser oversees the client relations team and is responsible for fundraising and new business development for the firm’s core and value business lines, according to the Tuesday statement.

Purser joined the firm’s Atlanta office Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the firm said. Prior to this role, he was the head of global consultant relations at Heitman. He spent almost six years at the Chicago-based firm, and previously worked as the vice president of client relations for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management’s RREEF funds, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Stockbridge is based in San Francisco and had $9.8 billion in assets under management as of December 31, according to the hiring announcement. The firm closed its latest vehicle, Stockbridge Value Fund II, in June on $320 million. The value-added fund, which was launched in 2013, had an original target of $400 million to $500 million, PERE reported at the time.
