MainePERS approves $25m commitment

The US public pension has backed KKR's second Europe-focused real estate fund.

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) has agreed to commit $25 million to KKR Real Estate Partners Europe II, a contact at the pension informed PERE. MainePERS previously committed $50 million to the fund’s predecessor in September 2015.

The $14.80 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to real estate that currently stands at 8.30 percent.

As illustrated below, MainePERS has committed to four real estate funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $141 million.
