Landmark hires former commando for London office

Landmark Partners continues its London hiring spree with the addition of a real estate secondaries analyst.

Landmark Partners has hired a former marine commando to work on real estate secondaries in its London office, PERE's sister publication Secondaries Investor reported Wednesday.

Batih Van Leer joined the firm’s real estate investment team in March as an analyst and focuses on underwriting real estate secondaries transactions, according to a spokeswoman. Van Leer was previously a senior analyst with CBRE Global Investors in London and an analyst with Savills in London and Amsterdam.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Amsterdam with a focus on real estate development and spent two years in the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps as a commando, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Landmark now has 10 professionals in its London office, according to the spokeswoman.

The firm made two new hires in London in January, including a vice-president on its real estate team and a junior analyst.

Simsbury, Connecticut-headquartered Landmark hired at least 12 new staff last year. The firm has raised 29 funds with a total of $15 billion in committed capital, according to its website.
