KIC unveils future plans

The sovereign wealth fund has outlined its future plans for investment into real estate.

Korea Investment Corporation is targeting to increase its assets under management to $200 billion by 2025.

In order to generate stable mid- to long-term profits, and continuously expand alternative investments and discover new asset classes to enhance diversification, the firm plans to:

  • increase its alternative investment allocation from 18 percent in 2021 to 26 percent by 2025;
  • enhance alternative investment capabilities and promotion of alternative direct investment to reduce fees.

For real estate, it will invest in data center and logistics sectors that benefit from the accelerated e-commence and data traffic growth after the covid pandemic.

KIC has an 8.88 percent allocation to real estate and infrastructure, which is $10.40 billion in capital.
