JLL hires former Perella Weinberg RE exec

Kevin Stahl has joined the firm’s capital markets group in New York.

JLL has tapped Kevin Stahl for a new role as capital markets managing director, the firm said Wednesday.

Stahl previously led Perella Weinberg Partners’ real estate advisory business, and was the co-head of US real estate investment banking at RBC Capital Markets. He also worked for GE Real Estate, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.

At JLL, Stahl will expand the firm’s advisory services with a focus on real estate mergers and acquisitions, strategic advisory, recapitalizations, structured portfolio transactions and large private equity raises. He will also work with the capital markets team around the US.

Stahl will report to Blake Lacher, head of JLL’s structured capital team.

“Kevin’s experience in advising public and private companies across the full spectrum of M&A, advisory and capital raising transactions is the perfect complement to our growing capital markets advisory capabilities,” Lacher said in Wednesday’s statement.

In 2015, JLL’s capital markets team completed $140 billion in investment sales and debt and equity transactions globally. A spokesman for the firm declined to comment on specific activity.
