JLL appoints head of APAC debt capital team

Fergal Harris, former global head of real estate at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, will now lead JLL’s debt capital team in the region.

Property services firm JLL has appointed Fergal Harris to lead its debt capital team in Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Harris will be based in Singapore and will be in charge of driving the firm’s capital sourcing services for investors in the region. He will report to Stuart Crow, JLL’s head of capital markets for the region.

Harris has more than 20 years of experience in global real estate finance across the US, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Previously, he was managing director and global head of real estate for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. He has also held various regional real estate roles at Standard Chartered Bank.

“I have worked closely with JLL throughout my career and around the world and I am very excited to have the opportunity to join a team of such exceptional professionals,” said Harris. “This is a great time for global real estate debt finance with opportunities for both traditional and non-traditional players. I look forward to working closely with clients and colleagues to help achieve the ambitious plans JLL has for growing its investor services business in Asia Pacific.”

JLL has been expanding its corporate finance team in the region. In January, it appointed Henrietta Yap as director of corporate finance for Greater China, following the appointment of Eddie Yeh as head of corporate finance for Greater China last August; and that of Tim du Temple as head of JLL’s debt advisory business in Australia last May.
