Invel makes two senior investment hires(2)

The European real estate investor has added former RREEF executive Piergiorgio Orru and former Carlyle professional Francesco Molinari to its investment bench.

Invel Real Estate Investment Partners, the European real estate platform of Chris Papachristophorou, has made two investment hires with the aim of bolstering the firm’s capabilities in Italy.

Piergiorgio Orru joins the London office of Invel as a principal after spending 10 years at RREEF, the former real estate arm of Deutsche Bank that subsequently became part of Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management.

He is joined at Invel by Francesco Molinari who will work in the Italian office of Invel as head of Italian acquisitions. Molinari previously spent eight years at private equity group Carlyle, most recently as an associate director, where he focused on opportunistic real estate deals. Prior to joining Carlyle, Molinari was an auditor for ‘Big Four’ audit firm PwC in Milan.

“I am delighted to welcome Piergiorgio and Francesco to Invel. They bring with them a wealth of experience with a focus on the Italian real estate market,” said Papachristophorou in a statement. “The arrival of Piergiorgio and Francesco significantly strengthens our ability to source opportunities and successfully conclude transactions in the Italian market.”

Invel was established in 2013 by Papachristophorou, who was the former global head of RREEF opportunistic investments.
