Illinois Teachers’ commits $322m

The US public pension has backed a pair of real estate vehicles managed by Exeter Property Group.

Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has approved $322 million-worth of commitments to two real estate vehicles managed by Exeter Property Group, a contact at the pension informed PERE. The commitments comprise of €200 million ($222 million) to Exeter Europe Industrial Core Fund and $100 million to Exeter Industrial Value Fund V.

The $53.24 billion US public pension has a 13.90 percent allocation to real estate.

As illustrated below, Illinois Teachers’ has made five commitments to real estate vehicles with a 2019 vintage, of which three have been to vehicles managed by Exeter Property Group. The 2019-vintage commitments combine for a total of $707 million.
