Global PERE Awards: the final countdown

With just over one week before voting closes, time is running out for you to decide on the best performers in real estate in 2012. Your vote is particularly crucial in several races that are extremely tight.

Voting for the 2012 Global PERE Awards is entering the final stretch, with just seven days left to decide on the best performers in the real estate asset class over the past year.

These last days will be crucial in deciding deadlocks emerging in several categories. For example, among the Global categories, Brookfield Asset Management’s Barry Blattman is battling Graeme Eadie of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) for Industry Figure of the Year, while Global Logistic Properties’ R$2.9 billion (€1.14 billion; $1.45 billion) portfolio acquisition in Brazil is vying for Deal of the Year against Lone Star’s €1.1 billion purchase of TLG Immobilien.

In Asia, the Goodman Group’s Greg Goodman is neck-to-neck with Jeffrey Schwartz of Global Logistic Properties for Industry Figure honors, and CPPIB is challenging the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for the regional title of Institutional Investor of the Year. Meanwhile, in Europe, Patron Capital appears to be running away from the competition, comfortably leading the pack in the four main categories in which it is nominated – Industry Figure, Firm, Deal and Capital Raise of the Year.

Of course, there is still time to make your vote count. To check out the nominees in the Global, North America, Europe and Asia categories, follow the link to our dedicated voting page and get voting.

Voting is easy. Simply visit our voting page and fire away. Each category has four nominations for you to consider.
