The India-focused private equity firm, Everstone Group, has hired a former Goldman Sachs executive as its new chief executive officer.

A top Goldman Sachs executive, Brooks Entwistle has joined Singapore based-private equity firm Everstone Group as partner and group chief executive officer, the private equity firm said in an announcement today.

In his over two-decade long association with Goldman Sachs, Entwistle has served as the chairman of Goldman Sachs South East Asia, and was also the chief executive officer of the investment bank’s Singapore operations. He also spent time in India as the founder and CEO of Goldman Sachs India.

Based in Singapore, Entwistle’s brief is to oversee the day-to-day management of the firm and manage cross border transactions and deals. His arrival will also facilitate its expansion in Southeast Asia.

Everstone manages $2 billion of assets via private equity and real estate funds, particularly in India. In January, it held a final closing on $300 million for its IndoSpace Logistics Parks II fund, through which it will make investments in the logistics real estate sector in India.

Last year, it formed a joint venture with US hamburger chain, Burger King to roll out the restaurants in India.
