Europa makes UK, Benelux and Nordic hire

James Fortescue, a property services agent with CB Richard Ellis, is joining the London firm because he wanted to go client-side.

Europa Capital, the pan European private equity real estate firm, has appointed James Fortescue from Richard Ellis.

The new hire will be a senior associate focussing on new investments in the United Kingdom, Benelux and the Nordic region, according to a statement by the firm.

Fortescue joined Richard Ellis in 2002 working in Global Corporate Services specialising in real estate strategy for a range of corporate businesses before moving to the West End team focusing predominantly on German inward investment into the UK.

He joins while Europa Capital is investing its fifth fund, Europa Fund III, and its sixth, Europa Emerging Europe Fund.

Noel Manns, a principal at Europa, said: ?”We are delighted that James has joined us as we continue to expand our presence in Northern Europe.?”

?”I wanted to move client side and focus on specific European markets which, I believe, offer some of the most interesting opportunities going forward, and which will be central to Europa?s' investment programme,?” said Fortescue.
