Duet closes on €100m for Euro debt fund

The London-based alternative asset management firm has completed a first close for the vehicle which will invest in debt as well as originate new loans.

Duet Private Equity, the private equity, real estate, infrastructure and corporate finance arm of London-based alternative asset management firm Duet Group, has completed a first closing for its incoming European Real Estate Debt Fund.

In an announcement, the firm said it had raised capital from sources including seed investor and strategic partner Forum Partners for the vehicle which will target investment in loans and debt securities, as well as originate new loans and facilitate restructurings. The fund will invest in the UK and Germany.

Duet said it would seek to start deploying the capital, which was also committed by European institutional investors, immediately.

Forum Partners has been particularly active on the fundraising and investment front in recent months. After closing on €443 million for its Forum European Realty Income III fund in February, it started fundraising on its third Asian vehicle in November, targeting $1 billion. In July, the firm purchased Citi Alternative Investments’ real estate securities team.
