Chicago FABF rehires Callan as investment consultant

The US public pension has chosen to retain Callan after RFP process.

Chicago Firemen Annuity & Benefit Fund has agreed to rehire Callan LLC as its investment consultant, as mentioned during the pension’s May 2021 investment committee meeting. The contract would cover a period of up to five years, commencing July 2021.

An RFP for an investment consultant was issued earlier this year, as previously reported by PERE.

As illustrated below, Chicago FABF currently allocates 7.6 percent of its full investment portfolio to private real estate. As of March 31, the value of its private real estate portfolio was approximately $71.8 million. Lorna Scott is the pension’s chief investment officer.
