Data from PERE Research & Analytics reveal that the private real estate market held a strong showing in Q1 2014. The $30.5 billion raised by 58 vehicles was a significant increase from the $19.7 billion raised in Q1 2013, and more than double the $13.9 billion raised in Q1 2012.  If fundraising trends remain constant from 2012 and 2013, where each quarter saw more capital raised than the last, 2014 will be another record breaking year in terms of total capital raised.

The top funds closed in the quarter were the €5.1 billion Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV managed by The Blackstone Group, the $5.5 billion PIMCO BRAVO Fund II managed by Pacific Investment Management Co. (PIMCO), and the $1.4 billion Walton Street Real Estate Fund VII managed by Walton Street Capital.
