CBRE appoints Deng for newly-created China leadership role

The real estate services firm has appointed Andrew Deng as managing director for Western China.

CBRE has appointed Andrew Deng as managing director for Western China in what is a newly-created leadership position to expand the firm’s platform across China’s growth markets.

Deng will be based in Chengdu in the Sichuan province. In this role, he would be overseeing all business lines and shared services for CBRE’s Western China platform.
He is reporting to Ben Duncan, chief executive of North Asia, and president of Greater China for CBRE.

“Andrew’s appointment reinforces CBRE’s commitment to deepening its Greater China investment beyond the more established market,” Duncan commented in a statement. “We will continue to bolster ranks, hire local talent, and build scale in growth markets to better support the evolving requirements of our diverse domestic client base and expansion plans of our global clients.”

Before joining CBRE, Deng was working with competitor firm Savills, where he led its retail business in Chengdu as the head of West China retail team.
