Brockton hires head of capital

The London-based private equity real estate firm has hired former Moor Park Capital Partners executive Sanjay Sethi.

Brockton Capital, the London-based private equity real estate firm, has hired Sanjay Sethi to the newly created position of head of capital.

Sethi joins the firm from Moor Park Capital Partners, a London-based private equity real estate firm and advisor specialising in real estate monetization transactions, particularly sale and leasebacks, where he was a senior member of the investment team.

During his time at Moor Park, Sethi, led transactions across Europe as well as working as head of origination for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Transaction highlights include the financing and structuring of the Spire Healthcare portfolio in the UK for approximately £725 million (€998 million; $1.13 billion), the restructuring and sale of Banco Sabadell bank branch portfolio in Spain for around £?215 million and the acquisition, structuring and financing of the German utilities company RWE’s headquarters in Germany for about £90 million.

Prior to Moor Park, he was an executive director at The Royal Bank of Scotland working in a joint venture between their real estate and asset backed securities trading teams. He has also worked in the structured real estate capital team at ABN AMRO Bank and the European real estate and principal finance team at Credit Suisse.

As head of capital at Brockton, Sethi, will inherit the responsibilities of Brockton’s head of debt, Alex Wright, but the role will be expanded to make it more investor facing as well as covering the underwriting, executing and financing of deals.

Wright’s head of debt role was only part of his responsibilities and he will continue as associate partner where he has asset managed investments across a wide range of UK sectors from offices, retail, leisure, industrial, distribution, and prime residential, through to pubs, serviced apartments, data centres, and healthcare.
