Ares’ real estate growth in four charts

The $207bn global alternative asset manager’s US real estate debt platform made up the largest share of its AUM in the asset class.

Ares Management’s real estate assets under management recorded a 21.4 percent year-on-year increase in Q1 2021 on the back of additional commitments  for its US debt, US equity and European equity platforms.

The New York-based firm received $2.6 billion in gross new capital commitments in the quarter, according to its quarterly earnings report. As of March 31, 2021, its real estate assets under management totaled $17.1 billion, up from $14.1 billion a year before.
