AllianceBernstein hires Goldman MD

The New York investment firm has hired Adam Brooks from Goldman Sachs real estate principal investment area to work with fellow Goldman alumni Brahm Cramer and Jay Nydick.

AllianceBernstein, the New York investment firm, has hired another Goldman Sachs real estate professional to add to its ranks.

The firm has taken on Adam Brooks who was managing director of Goldman Sachs Real Estate Principal Investment Area (REPIA). He will work with Brahm Cramer and Jay Nydick on its opportunistic investment strategy as well as on other initiatives.

The hire sees Brooks reunited with Cramer, who is a former co-head of REPIA who left the firm in 2009 in a reshuffle that saw Edward Siskind take over as sole group head.

The other co-head of AllianceBernstein's real estate effort is Goldman alumni Jay Nydick who joined in 2009 having been in president of iStar Financial, the US commercial real-estate company since 2004.

Prior to iStar, Nydick he co-led the firm's non-Japan Asia corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate investment banking business for four years.
